11 - Harvey Danger releases latest album on their website – for free.

Harvey Danger is releasing their latest album for free on the Internet.

In preparing to self-release our new album, we thought long and hard about how best to use the internet. Given our unusual history, and a long-held sense that the practice now being demonized by the music biz as ìillegalî file sharing can be a friend to the independent musician, we have decided to embrace the indisputable fact of music in the 21st century, put our money where our mouth is, and make our record, Little By LittleÖ, available for download via Bittorrent, and at our website. Weíre not streaming, or offering 30-second song samples, or annoying you with digital rights management software; weíre putting up the whole record, for free, forever. Full stop. Please help yourself; if you like it, please share with friends.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen them live, but they always had an entertaining show. And now this too. They get it.

12 - Gas in Seattle is cheap!

Yup, that’s right. Gas here is cheap.

We just took a trip to Victoria, BC this past weekend and were floored by the price of gas. After metric and current currencvy conversions, a gallon of gas cost us between US$3.71 – US$3.96 per gallon. The range depends on if you pay cash or use credit card, and where you get the exchange. Different methods of exchange vary widely in the actual exchange rate you’ll get. Even at the low range, we’re looking at almost a 33% increase in costs across the border

Keep the price difference in mind when you go to the polls this year and (hopefully) vote NO to I-912 so we can KEEP the gas tax and fix 520 and 99 before we kill hundreds of people in the next earthquake.
